I recently bought a wooden pencil stand on Amazon to hold my colored pencils while I am working. The stand, while serviceable, was a bit disappointing in quality - kind of a "really? If I had a drill and wood glue, and asked the guys at Home Depot to cut the 2x4s for me, I could do that... and sand it, too" kind of thing. But, it is very sturdy and solid, and nice and unfinished. So, I decided to "art it up." Since it is for my colored pencils, I figured I would use them. Then I decided to put images on there first. I used photocopies from some coloring books I already had, and used the gel transfer method to put them on the stand. I did that last night, removed the paper this afternoon, and started coloring tonight. Here are some photos of the process.
