My new car!

My new car!

Here it is! My 2009 Dodge Journey. It was a steal because, sadly, apparently no one else wanted it. LOL! It was, quite literally, 33% off!!! Has heated seats, remote start, AWD, sunroof - and CRUISE CONTROL. Yes, it is true. My PT Cruiser did not have cruise control for all 41,750 miles that I drove around this lovely country. Granted, it was only every six months or so, but that was enough!

The "bad" points? Apparently I'm the only person in the world (er, Wichita KS anyway) who wants a crossover without the third row seating. Plus, apparently it has hail damage somewhere, but I have yet to find it - didn't know until they had to disclose it when I actually purchased the car. That's just cosmetic anyway. Never been all that fond of black cars, either (they get too hot) but had said I didn't care WHAT color car I found as long as it had everything I wanted, and this one does!

Of course, my sister's father-in-law bought a black '08 Corvette the same day I bought my Journey. Sheesh. Talk about being upstaged! :-) I had never quite "gotten" the whole thing about sportscars, but after sitting in his Corvette... WOW. I totally get it now. That car is SO SWEET!!!

oh, hello! i don't know how many good blogs i'm missing, with so few opportunities for wifi! you have inspired me! i have been slowly collecting pieces to make a backstrap loom, and have just committed to finishing the process so i can actually learn to weave on one.i will blog my process and also i'm subscribing to your blog, for continued inspiration. love the car!

That might be a good investment and the car itself is pretty snazzy in its own way. Did you notice anything about the hail damage yet? It might be a good move to look up on what that entails, to keep your car running smoothly.

Thanks! I need to check my comments more often - missed both of these! Sorry! I have yet to find anything that looks like hail damage on the car, so that's great, and it will be paid off in less than a year now, which is even better. :-) I came close to selling it this winter to buy a Sportsmobile (van camper), but luckily the dealership never got back to me during the time period I had off work and could have done it - their loss - and after another month I decided to just wait the other year until the car is paid for and then save up for a van instead.

I can tell you’re definitely looking forward to completing the payment on this car. Do you have a specific idea of exactly what make and model of van you’d like to buy when you have enough money? Having a clear or specific idea would help you save up sooner, I think, because then you’d be able to canvas for the best bargains easier.

Yep, I know what I want. Still want a Sportsmobile, but if not that, there are a few older models with interior layouts that I like. I'm already keeping my eye out for them. Actually, the one I wanted in December is still for sale. We'll see if it's still available when I'm ready to buy. Doubtful, but I didn't think it would be for sale now, either.

Hi Laura, it’s fantastic that the van you’ve wanted for a long time now is still up for sale. Are you still keeping an eye on it? Hopefully, you’ve got enough to be able to make a payment on it and still be able to complete paying for the car you’ve got now. I’m definitely rooting for you!
